The Beaches is full of character homes — century semis, detached houses with old plaster walls, and newer lakeside condos along Queen East. BuildMan's home-building background is exactly what that mix needs: we know how to anchor a TV into plaster, fix a settled door, or mount shelving in a condo without guesswork. Most jobs are booked same-day or next-day and finished in one to three hours.

Living a few blocks from Lake Ontario is the reason people buy in The Beaches, and it is also the reason a handyman's list here looks a little different. Moist air off the lake and big seasonal swings in humidity make wood move. Front doors on the older detached houses south of Queen swell in late summer and stick, then shrink in January and let in drafts. Window sashes bind, porch trim lifts, and exterior caulking around frames dries out faster than it would further inland. Much of our Beaches work is simply getting wood doors, windows and trim to behave again: planing, re-hanging on new hinges, shimming strikes and replacing weatherstripping.
The Upper Beaches, north of Kingston Road, has more of the narrow brick semis and Edwardian-style homes with shallow basements and steep staircases. There we see loose stair railings, worn treads and basement walls that need patching after a past leak has been dealt with. Our technicians come from a home-building background, so they will tell you if a stain or a sagging frame points to a bigger problem rather than painting over it.
Parking is the practical detail that trips up many trades here. Most streets are permit-only, driveways are rare, and Queen East has its own parking restrictions. We plan arrival, bring the tools we need in one trip and work around your schedule, including Saturdays.
Pricing stays simple: the same flat rates we charge across the city, materials at supplier cost with the receipt, and HST extra. For larger wall repairs see our drywall and wall repair service, or compare the rest of our Toronto handyman services. If a job turns out to need a licensed electrician or plumber, we say so up front and coordinate the right trade.
No. We charge the same flat $150 / $280 / $410 handyman rates everywhere in the GTA — there is no travel surcharge for The Beaches. Materials are billed at supplier cost with the receipt.
